Turpan is the place for grapes, raisins, and hot weather in northern China. Turpan is predominately a Muslin city so you’d be hard pressed to find even a shot of alcohol around (though you’d think they would have set up some breweries by now). The vineyards are plentiful though and we found many vineyards around the Emin Minaret:

You can buy raisins and grapes everywhere around town. Be aware that most raisins still contain the seeds in them but they still make for a great snack!
