Mutton is very popular in Pakistan. I guess something has to fill in for the lack of pork products! In fact, through Pakistan and China the first pig we saw was in Xiahe, China, a very Tibetan town in Gansu province and nearly 2000 miles away from Rawalpindi.
On our first night in Pakistan, we enjoyed a huge plate of mutton, beef and chicken kebabs at an outdoor restaurant where we sat on a raised platform with round pillows to prop ourselves up. Here’s a picture of the great dining experience…
