The last few days in China turned frigid on us with temperatures dropping from 90°+ to 40-°.

Our climbing spirits were only slightly dampened. We simply bundled up and went back out to the Lei Pi Shan crag. Maria worked on her first love 5.13a (hard!) which involved a few whippers but eventually a one-fall lead and a no falls top rope! She’s only been climbing for about 2 years so this was a neat good personal best for her.

Warning: this could also offend you - sorry!

Our last evening in Yangshuo, China was spent with friends enjoying multiple pounds of donkey meat. Both Maria and Gabe gave into this local specialty and realized the meat was actually quite tender!

We flew from Kuala Lumpur to Guilin, China to enjoy a little more Yangshuo limestone before heading home to SF. If you’re sick of local Asian grub while visiting the area, go eat at Rock & Grill. They have some of the best steaks and pork chops in town!
